About Us

Crittall & Hill was founded by friends and designers Alice Crittall and Rebecca Hill through a mutual passion for interiors. A chance encounter and a shared experience of returning to the Cotswolds after a decade away respectively led to the realisation that they both wanted to bring their combined talents and training within interior and graphic design together, and push against the expected aesthetic of ‘country interiors’. The duo work across a wide range of projects, from e-design packages to full-scale renovations and new builds.

How would you describe your style?

“We are passionate about long-lasting design, working with a balance of opposing elements and materials to create a sense of energy and intrigue. We believe that these values and our combined experience working with clients in the Cotswolds, London and further afield, allows us to bring a diverse aesthetic and unique, timeless quality to each project we deliver.

It is important to us to create homes you want to live in - thoughtfully considered interiors that are tailored to each individual's needs and tastes with an emphasis on tactile textures, natural materials and honouring the bones of the building. Comfortable contemporary with a nod to traditional detail, layered with original and iconic pieces that reflect the client's personality.”

"We recently completed a full refurbishment of a townhouse, restoring original architectural detail and responding sympathetically to the existing built environment. Working closely with our client, our aim was to create a home that came alive, reflecting the characters of the family who live there. Working with predominantly natural materials wherever possible, we created a beautiful backdrop to ground the spaces and develop a patina over time that becomes part of the family narrative. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, and combine this with an innate understanding of people and interiors.

We kept the backdrops of each room muted by using neutral tones paired with tactile materials for warmth and depth. By playing with the balance of opposing elements, this allowed the individual pieces to breathe and sing, creating a really lovely atmosphere. We sourced pieces from local craftsman, artisan makers, antique dealers as well as off the shelf designs, pulling all of this together to deliver a home that works on both a practical and holistic level."
