Sunbeam Jackie specialises in making exuberant, custom-made outdoor parasols, which are suitable for private, commercial and poolside settings. Their parasol collections of both one-off, vintage fabric parasols and printed patterned textiles are available to purchase on their website: www.sunbeamjackie.com
They work to commission on both private and commercial projects.
Founded in 2011 by artist couple Charlie and Katy Napier, Sunbeam Jackie is run from their studio, a 12th-century grain store in Cornwall, UK.
A collaboration between Charlie and Katy, both sculptors by training, it is the couples’ combined sculptural sensibility; a shared love of design, costume and textiles which provide the inspiration and energy behind their work.
The very first collection of limited edition parasols was spotted by Mark Homewood, Designers Guild. Following this success, Sunbeam Jackie went on to work with Bruce Lepere at Liberty of London.
Subsequent clients and collaborators include Rossana Orlandi Gallery, 1stDibs, House of Hackney, Soho House and the much-lauded Pig Hotels.
Commissions from Hollywood A-listers including Liv Tyler and the late, great Carrie Fisher helped to quietly cement Sunbeam Jackie’s reputation as the most exclusive luxury parasol maker around.
Their clients are creative individuals themselves, they buy these pieces because they love them.

How would you describe your style?
"Joyful, flamboyant, eccentric, English-exotic, with a focus on the quality of material and client experience.
There is a special beauty, a well-chosen parasol has the ability to compliment a building and marry or harmonise the outdoor space with the architectural backdrop, a functional ornament creating shade, special life and atmosphere, a simple thing yet with great impact.
Sunbeam Jackie parasols are made with the finest materials including hardwood ash poles, spars and stainless steel mechanisms. Parasols are fabricated, sewn and assembled in the Sunbeam Jackie workshop, in Cornwall, UK.
Their parasols come in 3 sizes - 2metre, 2.5 metres and 3 metres. Custom sizes are available on request."

"As a small design company focusing on the quality of experience, clients will work directly with Charlie and Katy to create or select the most suitable textiles for their project.
Recent projects include:
- C16th hotel in Normandy, France. A fleet of custom-made parasols for the main hotel terrace, surrounding cottages and poolside. All parasols are different to suit the changing moods of the various spaces.
- Commissioned by Summer Thornton Interior Design for a private client in Naples, Florida. A maximalist collection of printed textiles parasols for the poolside.
- Private members club, Somerset UK. The brief was to create a collection of textile designs in colour-ways echoing the interiors colour scheme, creating a highly-customised fleet of parasols to complement the architecture and exterior finishes.
- Private client in Hampstead Heath, London. An exuberant set of vintage-fabric parasols for a special garden."
