Fi Boyle Garden Design is an award-winning garden and landscape design practice serving the Southwest and beyond.
Fi’s principal working ethos is that gardens and their surrounding landscapes play a vital role in bringing calm and perspective to busy lives. She believes that the space around a house, no matter how large or small, should be a peaceful and beautiful place. A garden is an extension of a home, a haven in which to relax and enjoy time on one’s own or to share with friends and family.
To Fi, a house without a well-designed garden is like a story without an ending; never wholly satisfying. Her aim is for every garden to compliment the house and its owners, to always provide colour, interest and an ever-changing backdrop throughout the seasons.
Inspired by her father, gardening is in Fi’s blood. She was taught from a young age to discover the joy in plants and in the natural world. Originally trained as a graphic designer at Central St Martins, Fi went on to study and graduate with distinction from the highly regarded Garden Design School. Fi has been running her own practice since 2009.
How would you describe your style?
"Elegant and stylish, Fi’s design style always uses a diverse plant palette and has interest for every season. She always works with nature rather than against it."

"We recently designed a garden in NE Somerset that sits on a steep hillside overlooking a beautiful valley. The terraced levels were constructed using existing stone with each layer creating an individual garden of its own. Stepping stone paths were used to encourage a journey through the garden. We included a corten steel water feature that sends water cascading down three levels and creates an echo of the streams that may once have flown here. This is a stunning garden that sits beautifully into its surroundings."
The List features design professionals, searchable by area, name and specialism. Membership starts at £450 per year, including a subscription to House & Garden (UK only)
