“Our clients, who recently returned from living abroad, sought to inject some love back into their charming Victorian terraced home through new layouts and interior design. Given the compact nature of the space, careful design decisions and spatial planning were essential to create a more seamless environment.
The living area, which also serves as the entrance, was our starting point. With the ability to reinvest in furniture, we reassessed the scale of key pieces to optimise space. We replaced a large L-shaped sofa with a smaller 2.5-seat option, allowing us to reposition it and open the room, creating a more spacious feel. This new layout, combined with beautifully simple bespoke cupboards, transformed the living area into a calm and welcoming entry. While our client preferred a soft, neutral palette, there are moments of punchier colour selections by way of textiles, tiling, and walnut-stained shelves, adding character and depth to the design.
The kitchen and dining space, previously divided by a side return, is now unified by a new layout featuring a centrally located island adorned in a most beautiful quartz. This transformation has enhanced both the flow and functionality of the area, creating a light and spacious environment suitable for various social settings. New banquette seating leads the way in the other half of the room and while bespoke details on the back wall elongate the room and draw the eye toward the garden framed by freshly painted patio doors. The colour palette and flooring extend from the living room, fostering a seamless connection throughout the ground floor and resulting in a more cohesive, considered space.”
