About Us
Design Storey is an award-winning architectural and interiors practice known for high-end homes, heritage and lifestyle projects.
Design Storey was founded 10 years ago with a vision to design beautiful homes by repurposing old buildings, or creating new ones, to enhance their clients’ everyday lives. The studio brings a holistic approach to their projects where the disciplines of architecture, interior design and landscape design are brought together under one roof, to tell a complete design story. Based in Oxford, designs are inspired by experiences working in both London and Vancouver, as well as the beautiful surroundings of Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
How would you describe your style?
"We are inspired by the stories of the people & buildings we work with to create beautiful spaces that reflect their unique context and will stand the test of time. Our approach has been recognised by the receipt of several awards including a Royal Institute of British Architects special award for conservation."

"Service
We offer a ‘holistic design service’, called the complete design story, where the three disciplines of architecture, interiors and landscape are brought together under one roof. This service combines the skills of our architecture and interior design teams and is intended to free clients from the day-to-day management of a project.
The Cowshed
A restrained material palette and a light touch design approach was used to convert this grade II listed dilapidated cowshed in the Cotswolds Natural Landscape into a contemporary home that celebrates its original use.
The barn comprised of a single-storey cowshed and a two-storey bull-pen with hayloft above, these two elements of the building were not linked internally and were located on different levels. Our design concept involved sensitively uniting both sides of the barn by inserting a timber pod structure into the fabric of the listed building.
We had to work hard with the limited space in the barn, tucking in the master ensuite bathroom in under the eaves, suspending a shower over the stair and creating compact but characterful spaces.
From our clients: 'Design Storey helped us convert an old Cotswolds cowshed into our dream home. From planning the space together, dealing with conservation issues through to appointing builders and overseeing the project, they held our hands each step of the way. We now have a beautiful, bespoke home in the heart of the Cotswolds thanks to Design Storey'"
