A dynamic multidisciplinary studio founded by designer and art connoisseur Niloufar Bakhtiar Bakhtiari in 1999. The studio encompasses interior design, art direction, art curation and cultural collaborations between institutions and luxury brands. Recent projects include the exhibition ‘Poetry of Time’ by Richemont at Cromwell Place and full-scale private home renovation and interior design in Kensington and Chelsea. Niloufar and her team of artists, landscape and interior designers, writers and photographers, pool their knowledge of international culture, art and design, history and literature to elevate projects. Intelligent use of colour is a key influence of Niloufar’s Persian heritage and has helped shape a clear design identity. She is passionate about Middle Eastern art and her stewardship roles as Patron of the Royal Academy and former member of the MENAAC acquisition committee at Tate Modern signify the central position that art takes in her life and work.

"'The brief was to restore a Grade II listed artist’s studio to provide both a family living space and a working studio in Chelsea. The studio originally formed part of a historic site that had evolved in purpose from the Victorian foundry where Trafalgar Square’s lions were cast, into a complex of work spaces housing practising artists including John Singer Sergeant and Flora Lion. NBB made a number of sensitive structural changes in order to restore the property and transform it into a welcoming and beautiful home. The client required a space that was warm and colourful, showing artistic expression and creativity without looking over-styled or designed. The brief required us to work closely with heritage architects to preserve the character of the building whilst introducing structural elements to enable contemporary living. It was imperative that the main space function as a home, a working studio and a space for exhibitions, conversation and collaboration.'
NBB Design’s portfolio of services include interior design and design consultations for individuals, art direction, curation and creative development for luxury brands and public institutions. NBB’s recent clients include the University of Cambridge, Richemont and Cromwell Place. They are currently working on a retrospective for a renowned photographer and a collaboration with a major luxury Maison."
