About Us

Amica Studio is an interior design studio based in South West London and run by Estelle Tomlin and Andrea Somal. The team have developed a dynamic interiors service with a reputation for providing innovative and extensive expertise in the mid to high-end, private residential property market in London. They provide a highly personal and adaptable service, building strong ongoing relationships with clients, suppliers & contractors.

Established in 2020, Estelle and Andrea left a high-end studio and took the plunge into the Greater London interiors market. Their CVs include the designs of Fifty Cheyne, Bagatelle Monaco & London, Waldorf Astoria Doha, Cromwell Place Bar, and many more.

One of Amica’s key strengths is the development of strong relationships with an array of local suppliers in the community. Whether that be upholsterers or joinery professionals, developing this local network has allowed Amica to build a reliable local supply chain to meet client needs.

The success of the company has been a true source of inspiration for entrepreneurial women.

How would you describe your style?

"We try and strike the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Recognising homes need to evoke personality but also be practical for everyday life.

A good designer asks all the right questions to discover what the client’s vision is for the project and working with them to bring that to life.

We tend to lean toward a contemporary eclectic style with a classic undertone, however rather than having a ‘house style’ we always listen to our clients and what they want, learning about how they want to use spaces and guiding them to understand each rooms function.

We then work with them to show off the latest fabrics, textures & trends - and match them with colours and schemes. Discussing hotels and restaurants that they’ve been to and loved or perhaps been inspired by and then try and incorporate elements of those schemes into the project to ensure we are creating spaces they feel totally comfortable in."

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"We recently completed a family home in Wimbledon village providing comprehensive interior design services that included interior architecture & design, FF&E sourcing and procurement.

The brief was to fully design the property utilising the levels through clever spatial planning for a fun & fabulous couple. The clients had bought a plot at the top of the hill and the difficulty was working with the landscaping and levels to achieve a comfortable property - at its widest point, the house was only 4.2 metres and 20 metres long, tiering over four floors and cutting into the landscape so it was difficult to fit everything in – but we did it!

Their style was very modern and eclectic, and they loved abstract, funky patterns but also wanted a backdrop of neutral tones in case they decided to sell the house in a few years’ time.

When we first met the client she had a really jazzy textured handbag and chic embroidered jacket which was gorgeous so we knew they had style! We went straight back to our studio and ordered all the most interesting fabrics we could find and incorporated them into little pockets of the each room where we could.

Our process is always managed with the client in mind, to ensure we design to protect their investments from start to finish."
