About Us

East London Parasol Company launched in 2015, with the support of the Princes Trust. They make luxury garden parasols with beautifully carved bases complemented by matching cushions. The parasol designs range from bright fabrics, bold chevrons, and contemporary prints to elegant tasselled and white scalloped pieces.

East London Parasol Company aims to bring colour, style and theatricality to outdoor spaces. Their ambition is to create ever more beautiful designs and to push the parameters of how colourful and lovely a garden parasol can be.

No part of the production is automated, each design is produced in limited quantities and nothing in volume. Every product is a labour of love, made by traditional methods in Britain, India and Indonesia. The fact that the parasols are handmade is an essential element of their appeal and luxury, many of these processes cannot be mechanised without compromising the beauty and personality of the products. The dyes for the screen-printed canopies are mixed by hand and eye, the Octagonal Parasol frames are made by carpenters and woodturners, the bamboo parasol poles are carved in Bali, the sandstone bases are made in Rajasthan by seventh-generation stonemasons, and the Balinese fabrics are painted by hand.

The gorgeous parasols are a simple, chic and luxurious way to extend any living area outdoors. They’re perfect for stylishly shaded alfresco dining, creating a festival or holiday vibe, or afternoon lounging with a tantalizingly good book.
