About Us

Artist and designer Ginny Litscher can be found spending months at a time painting her large-scale intricate signature artworks. Each of her paintings or designs tells a different story which is as versatile as her drawing techniques. The original artwork will then be turned into a textile design by the artist herself. What from afar can seem playful or classical is, in fact, displays explicit and coquettish details. Adorable provocative and sensual her designs make for the ultimate eye-catcher always being both chic and ultimately timeless.

Ginny graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2009. Going on to use her drawing skills for brands such as Zara Home Vivienne Westwood Alexander McQueen Diane von Furstenberg and many more. Ginny launched her print collection in 2011 specializing in hand-fringed silk scarves. The fringes are individually printed and the scarf designs are created from Ginny's original artwork which can take months and even years to finish.

Ginny was nominated for the Swiss Design Prize for her unique fringing technique. Her fan base includes Lady Gaga, Keira Knightley, Florence Welch, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Vogue and the Financial Times amongst many others. During London Fashion Week and at the Vogue Salon, her opulent silk scarves were stocked by department stores such as Harvey Nichols Liberty Joseph Jelmoli Ulli Knecht and many other stockists. The designer did not just make a name for herself with her exquisite silk scarves but also when she launched her intriguing interior design collection in 2017.

Her unique style received the attention of hotel owner Harry Handelsman who commissioned her to create a painting and textile design concept for his St.Pancras Hotel in London. Ginny`s hand-drawn textile designs soon were ordered by restaurants, private clients and hotels all over the world for interior design projects including wallpapers, murals paintings and whole-room concepts. Recent collaborations with brands such as Maserati and Lalique, have also put her on the map for bespoke artwork creations.

With her original paintings and drawings, she participated in various exhibitions such as Art Basel, the Royal Academy London, the Zürcher Kunsthaus, the Textile Museum St.Gallen, Gallery Reichlin or online on Artsy to name a few. More details on her wallpaper designs are available on Architonic whilst more information on her artworks can be found on Artsy as well as on her website.

"The inspiration for Ginny Litscher’s latest silk creations was this year’s Empreinte Animale crystal collection from Lalique. Dedicated to expressing the dazzling vision and passion of its founder René Lalique through exciting, emotional masterpieces, the company honours his legacy with this crystal collection – a tribute to the animal world in all its splendour. It is a world that was very close to René Lalique’s heart. The new collection invites viewers to immerse themselves in a colourful jungle of lush vegetation, to let their instincts run wild. “I always imagine a fantasy world in which I would like to live myself”, says the artist. “I’m very often inspired by flora, fauna and extraordinary women to create enchanting and sensual subjects.” Finished artworks materialise spontaneously in Ginny Litscher’s mind, and she then spends months or even years putting them on paper or canvas. She feeds her hunger for inspiration by visiting museums, travelling or simply strolling through her urban neighbourhood. Her trademarks are works of art created with great attention to detail, with which she surprises and amazes others and herself again and again.

The hand-drawn images are printed on the finest one hundred per cent twill silk. The limited-edition foulards, which are printed individually, are available in different background colours and in two sizes. The silk scarves are fringed by hand in Switzerland using a special technique that is Ginny Litscher’s trademark. Her extraordinary style, her signature and the enormous amount of time she spends on her art are what make it so unique. From a distance the textile artworks look classic and playful. Examining them up close, you can see clear, colourful motifs. The foulards and scarves are light and comfortable – suitable for both winter and summer wear. The scarves are now available at all Lalique stores worldwide."
