About Us

A family-owned and family-run company, Sofas & Stuff blends contemporary creativity with the experience of three generations in furniture retail in their range of timeless, bespoke sofas, chairs and beds. Offering a level of choice and customisation that sets it apart, the furniture is handmade to order in Sofas & Stuff’s own factory in Preston.

At the heart of Sofas & Stuff, you'll find a world of beautiful and distinctive fabrics. Stepping into one of their 23 showrooms, you'll immediately sense an exciting energy of colours, textures, and patterns. Delve deeper, and you'll find an extensive collection of fabric books that go beyond the ordinary and include exciting collaborative collections created with the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum) and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). Complementing these are collections from renowned British and international fabric houses like Colefax & Fowler, Linwood, and Sanderson.

A new London showroom, on the King’s Road, Chelsea, opens this March. Visitors can explore the range, surrounded by a delightful ambience that encourages you to touch, try out, and envision your ideal comfort, while enjoying a freshly prepared, ‘bean-to-cup’ coffee, or cup of tea.

How would you describe your style?

"Our style, for both furniture and fabric, firmly reflects our British heritage. It is classic, timeless and enduring. New designs are introduced, not in response to passing trends, but because of their intrinsic beauty, comfort and utility. We are endlessly inspired by nature, informed by art and heritage, and committed to craft, quality and longevity."

"Our sofas, chairs and beds are handmade to order in Britain which means we can offer a huge degree of choice and customisation. Buying a sofa is a significant and meaningful investment in your home and family life. It’s also a highly personal decision as style and comfort mean different things to each of us. We are well-placed to help customers navigate this exciting journey. Our showroom design consultants bring a wealth of expertise and an eye for design. We understand that great service is about listening to individual customers, appreciating their needs, and offering creative solutions to design something that fits the bill entirely for both comfort and aesthetics.

We are very excited to introduce our third collection created in collaboration with the V&A. Threads of India comprises six fabric designs inspired by fascinating pieces in the museum’s collection of South Asian textiles and objects. From an opulent riding coat to resplendent tent hangings and exquisite dress fabrics once destined for Indonesian shores, each piece carries a wondrous tale of India’s artistic legacy, allowing people to infuse history into their contemporary living spaces. Our collaborative relationship with the V&A, the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance, reflects our immense curiosity about design, past and present, and connects with a similar passion felt by many of our customers."
