"We recently managed the refurbishment and redecoration of a Chelsea Flat for some existing clients. We began with architectural changes to open up the space, such as creating taller door openings and introducing a double door into the reception room. We then raised the ceiling heights in the entrance hall, master bedroom and bathroom to match the reception room. Wide oak floorboards throughout brought a natural element to the space. The reception room has had an antique marble chimney piece fitted, and the niches either side have been mirrored with modern art works overhung.
There is a comfortable seating area around the fireplace, as well as desk area with a French ebonised bureaux plat and a dining area for six. We also designed a new bathroom with a twin sink vanity unit with marble top, and large marble lined shower with discrete recess storage to replace the preexisting bathtub.
The small kitchen has been remodelled with a black and white chequer board floor, dark grey cabinetry, Sile stone counter tops and a shaped plaster extractor cover, creating a more contemporary look whist retaining the traditional atmosphere. In the master bedroom, we installed new bespoke closets and added recessed storage into the walls either side of the bed which are discretely hidden by jib door. The room is finished with a sea foam grass cloth wallpaper."
