About Us

Fine Artist Lady Deirdre Dyson has been designing contemporary carpets and rugs for over 20 years and each year produces a new themed collection. Using the finest, luxurious materials, Deirdre Dyson’s award-winning carpets and rugs are either hand-knotted in Nepal by Tibetan experts, practiced in this ancient skill, or gun tufted here in the UK. From her contemporary gallery space, located on the King’s Road in London’s Chelsea Design Quarter, Deirdre Dyson and her dedicated team offer a complete bespoke design service, for both commercial and residential projects in the UK and internationally. All Deirdre Dyson rugs are made to order from a palette of over 5,000 colours using natural materials; wool, silk or a combination of both and all hand knotted designs are Goodweave certified.

Lady Deirdre Dyson recently designed the complete carpet scheme for a repurposed 18th Century listed Georgian townhouse, in London’s Mayfair. The project totalled fourteen contemporary carpets - six hand knotted, free-standing rugs and eight tufted, fitted carpets together with a stair runner over four floors. Through her use of bold geometric designs, Lady Dyson developed a scheme to bring contrast and complimentary accent colours which define and enhance the individual rooms. A total of fifty separate colours were used across the project with some carpets having up to sixteen colours alone. The carpets give each room a separate identity and interest but Dyson has connected the spaces using a similar colour palette, often through the use of grading, adding personality with dramatic bursts of colour, be it a bold blue or vivid terracotta. All working cohesively with remaining original features and the architect’s reworking of the building.
