Focussed on the Cotswolds, Pippa Paton is a highly respected and visionary interior design studio specialising in high-end residential projects.
The studio offers a comprehensive design service including architecture, spatial planning, interior architecture, lighting, kitchens and bathrooms as well as bespoke joinery. The company's projects always consider the relationship between the interior to the exterior spaces.
Known for transforming the manor houses, estates, barns and cottages of the Cotswolds, Pippa Paton’s approach is consistent: an unwavering focus on the bones of the structure that reflect the unique character of the region. Blending these seamlessly with both contemporary materials and the textures of natural materials including wood, stone, linen, wool and leather, to create timeless, luxurious homes.
The studio’s work covers more than simply interior design. Over the past two decades, we have successfully reconfigured many historic (and more recently constructed) homes for life in the 21st century, finding solutions to everything from how to turn the myriad of rooms ‘behind the green baize door’ into large family-friendly kitchen/living/dining spaces, to removing entire floors to form double-height master suites and equally resolving the essential questions of how to create a fully functioning boot/utility room or where to find space for a much-needed cloakroom or ensuite.
Creating the design solutions on paper is only the first stage: navigating the project through planning, and construction and fit out to the end product of a home exactly as you hoped it would be, is all part of what Pippa Paton provides.
Established by Pippa in 2006, the studio is built around her instinctive ability to visualise what a space can be and how to optimise its potential for the lives we lead today, be that through spatial reconfiguration, exposing and enhancing historic features or the introduction of colours, textures, furniture and art to create interiors of calm simplicity.

How would you describe your style?

"We recently finished the comprehensive renovation of this important Grade II listed Cotswold estate acting as lead design and management consultant. The project scope included architecture, spatial planning and interior design throughout the 12-bedroomed house and extensive external works including a new swimming pool, renovation of the lake, ponds and arboretum, and new landscaping, fencing and walling throughout the grounds.
We obtained all consents required for the works and undertook the management of all contractors and specialist trades throughout the project.
The house had been extended and altered substantially over the last century culminating in the house having many small rooms, long corridors and a poor sense of circulation. Our focus was to re-establish the original planform for rooms and create a sense of simplicity and organisation to the house.
The design concept fuses contemporary and traditional materials whilst exposing and enhancing the traditional fabric of the building."
