About Us

We are a Norfolk-based interior design studio specialising in bespoke interior design for period homes. We look at each project individually and spend time with our clients to establish what it is that they need from their home.

Having worked on charming period cottages, listed country houses, terraced houses and village rectories, we offer a flexible, individually tailored service ranging from full project management to decorative support. With a degree in Heritage Interior Design and a passion for historic interiors, Louise will create a contemporary, updated design for your period home while always respecting the building's history.

How would you describe your style?

"While taking inspiration from the slightly eclectic English country house style, we focus on each client’s individual personality instead of a specific style at Louise Booyens Interiors. Our philosophy is that your home should reflect both who you are and the things you love. Schemes often start with a favourite piece of furniture or fabric belonging to the client, perhaps an heirloom, painting, or something special they have collected on their travels. "

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"We offer a fully bespoke interior design service specifically for period homes where each project is personally overseen by Louise.

Period homes need a blend of contemporary and classical design, a mix of old and new, to create interest and character and for me, it’s all about marrying period details with pattern, colour and up-to-date touches while always being sympathetic to the building’s history. We love using beautiful fabrics to bring colour to a room, either in a bold way or simply a pop of colour to elevate the scheme. Vintage & antique pieces can also be used to great effect to ensure the result doesn’t seem too contrived and will help create the feeling that the room has evolved over a period of time. When you add a piece of brown furniture to a room full of colour and pattern, it adds character and a sense of balance to the scheme.

Every project is seen as totally unique and Louise will take the time to really understand you and your lifestyle in order to provide a uniquely personal service and design approach. By working closely with you and incorporating what you already have she will help you create a home filled with character and warmth."
