About Us

Thornhill Shann is a family-run construction company, established in 2016, by siblings Tommy, Harry and Chloe Shann. Focusing on high-end residential projects, Thornhill Shann works closely with very well-regarded interior designers and architects, ensuring that their visions are realised to the very highest of standards. They rely on repeat business from a small group of respected Interior Designers and Architects – who they work closely with to ensure that together they create one team, working together to realise their client's vision.

Having always worked with the same four teams of highly skilled builders, they have established their reputation by providing their clients with the highest level of finish, that exceeds expectations. Their team of talented carpenters, bricklayers, hardworking labourers and project managers work together to manage and facilitate all aspects of the construction process, with a level of transparency, attention to detail and expertise that ensures the best possible experience for their clients and designers. They have a black book of loyal sub-contractors all of whom they trust implicitly, including stone masons, decorators and joiners.

The construction works included a large basement excavation with a spiral concrete staircase and a triple-story oak extension with a new butterfly slate roof. They also completed a full restoration of all existing lath and plaster and reinstated a layer of Lime Plaster. They restored the exterior masonry brickwork, including soot-washing the bricks. They restored the existing cornicing and installed oak joinery throughout.  The interior was completed with polished concrete floor and new oak floorboards. The bathrooms were clad in marble and tadelakt. They completely replaced all the mechanics and electrics and restored all the original sash windows."
