Plia Parasols make hardwood garden parasols with interiors-worthy upholstery fabrics, sourced from across Europe.
Whether for period houses or architect-designed properties, the company focuses on choosing fabrics that reflect the textures, style and quality found within the home. Whether heavy-weight and woven, or linen-look and patterned, Plia Parasols' fabric canopies are all sewn in England, and are completely weather-proof.
The team believe in buying less often, buying better quality, buying what you love, and then keeping, caring and repairing.
Plia Parasols' frames are made from eucalyptus hardwood, that can be sanded and re-treated when needed, the joints are all rust-resistant marine-grade steel, and the company only deal in full-length poles, so there are no weak spots to go wobbly over time. Should someone get heavy-handed, the Plia Parasols frames are 100% repairable, for maximum sustainability.
The company manufactures in small quantities, allowing the team to be hands-on with every detail of production, and to minimise waste. Plia Parasols welcome bespoke orders, to make a parasol that matches the uniqueness of your home, garden and personal style.
How would you describe your style?
"There’s a simplicity to our designs, which allows the fabrics to do the talking. That said, even with very traditional, floral style fabrics (such as our collection with Morris & Co) the shape of the micro valance, means our parasols look equally beautiful on a modern patio, as on the terrace of a manor house.
Our ambition with Plia Parasols was to move away from the purely functional, plain, and ultra-modern parasols that dominate the market, to create more warm, interesting and textured products, more fitting for homes that embrace style and design in their interior."

"As well as their ready-to-buy designs, customers and Interior Designers can supply their own fabrics, and the Plia Parasols team in Cornwall will sew it into a bespoke parasol in just a couple of weeks. Plia Parasols can advise on suitable fabrics, quantities, and provide sources of inspiration for all styles."
