About Us

Jane Brockbank Gardens is an award-winning landscape design studio based in London. Starting in 1999 they have built up a reputation for dynamic and imaginative planting with a strong emphasis on how plants coexist and interrelate in nature. Coming from a fine art background, Jane combines a painterly use of colour and texture with a contemporary approach to structure and form. A love of craft and detail permeates everything they do.

Collaborations with leading Architects and designers have resulted in a wide range of private and commercial projects from pocket-sized city gardens through to large country estates. She has exhibited twice at Chelsea Flower Show, the last one ‘Nature Ascending’ receiving a gold.

Jane holds full registered membership status (MSGD) with The Society of Garden Designers.

How would you describe your style?

"Jane is well known for her ability to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary aesthetics using nature-led design to create ecologically rich, beautifully designed and planted spaces. Most of her work is with Architectural practices and is equally at home with traditional listed buildings and the very best of contemporary architecture."

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"We recently completed a 4-acre project in Bedfordshire collaborating with architects on a contemporary new build house where we built a large wildlife pond, an enclosed courtyard, worked on the restoration of existing wooded areas and the creation of native meadows. We worked with the architects to get the scheme through planning, designed and oversaw the construction of the gardens and individually selected all the trees and planting. We also have an ongoing relationship with the gardening team who care for the estate, we strongly believe that a garden takes time and care to develop and we like to be involved to keep it on track."
