About Us

Hapticity Architects is a RIBA Chartered Practice established in 2017. We specialise in the reimagining of historic buildings with sensitive contemporary design that complements the original architecture and personality of the place. Our projects range from residential houses through to boutique holiday lets and hotels, all developed with a meticulous approach to the highest quality. Our services are tailored to a variety of different scales, spanning the whole development process from sketch ideas through to completion. Based in Bath, we work across the UK with projects in London, the Home Counties, the Southwest and the Cotswolds.

Hapticity Architects Ltd is a multidisciplinary practice, complemented by our interior design service, Haptic Living. This enables us to seamlessly intertwine an interior and Architectural offering. We are a dedicated team of designers with a variety of skills and interests, guided by an experienced director partnership. We work collaboratively with our clients to provide solutions and unique ideas that address the opportunities and constraints that each project presents in a beautiful, yet functional way. Our designs combine modern and traditional detailing with quality materials and inherent flexibility to ensure that they have longevity and an elegant timelessness.

"Hapticity architects were engaged in 2020 by a historic client to renovate an Edwardian Terrace his son had recently purchased in London. They were keen to maximise the longevity of the property for the son’s growing family. This meant exploring the feasibility of extending the small basement into one that stretches under the existing house and which has provided the possibility of a self-contained apartment but will be used as a gym, snug and sauna. Above ground, a rear and side extension has created a large family-friendly light living space. The young couple were keen to embrace colour and pattern, Haptic living the interior design service arm of hapticity Architects provided services to accomplish this. The result is a functional but lively home. Hapticity Architects and Haptic living delivered the project from inception to completion."
