Based in Mountain Brook, Alabama, Jeffrey Dungan Architects is a nationally renowned firm with projects spanning North and Central America, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom. Dungan was named the 2017 Southeastern Architect of the Year by Veranda magazine and ADAC; and has received many awards from the AIA. Projects by Jeffrey Dungan Architects have been featured in Architectural Digest, Milieu, Veranda, LUXE, The Wall Street Journal, and many other publications. His book, The Nature of Home, was published by Rizzoli in 2018.
As a native of the South, Jeffrey Dungan has always been inspired by the land and the connection between people, homes, and landscapes. Renowned for his clean and modern approach to traditional vernaculars and classical architecture, Dungan continues to translate those formal architectural languages into singular homes that are fresh and innovative.
With projects spanning multiple continents and environments, Dungan remains passionate that each home is specific to that individual owner and to that particular place. After determining the needs of the clients and whether the home will be rooted in the style of Lutyens, Mediterranean, Moorish, or Modern, Dungan always considers the place, the light, and the seasons as he refines his designs.
As passionate as Dungan remains about the exterior of each home, he is equally committed that the interior of the home is architecturally and aesthetically cohesive. From the interior architecture to the materials, craftsmanship, finishes, and fittings, Dungan remains engaged to ensure that each home is finished to the highest Specification in every way: architecturally, aesthetically, and qualitatively. Homes by Jeffrey Dungan have appeared in every major national shelter publication as well as in financial and investment publications. Many of his projects are featured in his book, The Nature of Home, published by Rizzoli in 2018. Dungan is a frequent guest speaker on panels and podcasts, and he has more than 120,000 Instagram followers.
