How would you describe your style?

“I’m inspired by storytelling, I want to tell the story of a homeowner in their space. I love a lot of different styles. I love to mix styles, colours, and patterns. I love to take the history of the home into consideration when I’m designing. It’s important to me to incorporate the homeowner and the whole family into the space.”

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"Meta recently finished a kitchen and pantry remodel in Encinitas, Calif., a small surf town just outside of San Diego. The homeowner, a mother of five, wanted a highly functional and efficient French Country kitchen that could accommodate the demands of her busy family. First, Meta reimagined the layout, so its views align with the adjacent living room. A roomy island – painted blue with woven, radio-weave cabinet fronts –- multitasks as storage and plenty of space for snacks and spreading out homework. Handmade Dutch corner tiles and oak cabinetry add warmth while a custom scalloped open cupboard in a stained green hue adds more colour and character. A rounded standalone cabinet with hand-painted floral motifs cleverly disguises a side-by-side refrigerator and freezer. For added storage (and easier access to snacks) Meta repurposed 300 square feet from an under-utilized music room to expand the family’s pantry. Framed by a Dutch door, the walk-in is painted in a cheery, buttery yellow (the homeowner’s favourite colour) and soothing deep cream. Blue and white tiles add a graphic contrast, as do a pair of floral skirts in lieu of traditional cabinetry. Finally, banquette seating, covered in forgiving performance fabrics, are the idyllic landing spot for the family to gather after a busy day."
