Barker Design has been creating homes that reflect their owners’ passions and style for more than a decade. Founder Justine Hodgson-Barker believes that the place in which you live or work should inspire, harmonise and ultimately make you happier, striving to push the boundaries in every design and create spaces that are every bit as individual as her clients.
Central to its design philosophy is the interpretation of the client’s brief to create original, eclectic interiors that surpass trends. Justine and her team draw upon the lifestyle and personality of the client, creating spaces where the story continues unfolding long after the Barker Design team has left. They aim to leave their clients with a place that will grow and change with them and their families whilst fulfilling all their practical needs.

How would you describe your style?
"Mixing up pieces from different eras and creating that uncontrived, eclectic look has become key to all Barker Design projects. We’re constantly on the hunt for new sustainable materials, vintage pieces and love working with local artisans and ‘up and coming’ product designers to create unique one-off pieces."

“This impressive villa, owned by a very design-led client, lies in the heart of Tunbridge Wells. They had already curated an impressive art collection, so the scheme was designed to hero these pieces as well as conveying an edgy vibe to suit this young family. With a nod to the origins of Decimus Burton Villa interior design, we mixed industrial, vintage and mid-century along with bespoke pieces. The rooms capture the eclectic look so favoured by the client’s favourite hotels of Soho House and The Greenwich in New York. We provided our full design service, including concept & scheme boards, joinery drawings, lighting plans, sourcing of all furniture, fixtures and fittings and overseeing the implementation of works."
