About Us
Nushka is an interiors lifestyle shop specialising in eclectic, artisanal, timeless accessories on Portobello Road. Taking its name from the Hindu word meaning precious possession, Nushka offers an ever-evolving collection of curated decorative pieces and curiosities including lamps, rugs, cushions and vintage textiles. Inspired by the irresistible allure of intricate textiles in India, the history-laden Suzani and Ikat fabrics that have shrouded the Silk Road for thousands of years, or the mesmeric weaving of the Tuareg tribes of Mauritania, Nushka encompasses all that is precious about authentic craft, making it a best-kept secret amongst interior designers. Founders Andrew and Farnoushe’s passion for sourcing, exploring and collecting lies at Nushka’s heart, offering a shopping experience reminiscent of magical journeys to the farthest-flung, most spell-binding locations.

How would you describe your style?
"The beauty of a traditional English home is its grounding in the eclectic. Antique wooden furniture, overlapping rugs, worn tweed upholstery and chipped willow pattern vases congregate into a diorama of layered textures and patterns, delightfully disrupted by the jolt of a silk Ikat lampshade, a Suzani or Jajim cushion, or a Tuareg mat. Nushka’s globally-inspired homewares offering brings colour, pattern, and warmth to the backdrop of life. English tea-stained interiors revel in the presence of Nushka’s extraordinary, rare fabrics and accessories, while more contemporary homes relish the sense of history they bring."

"Nushka sources extraordinary fabrics, home accessories, and artworks for some of the most sought-after homes in the world, selling its wares to interior design studios and individuals alike. From dramatic silk Ikats hand-woven and hand-dyed in Uzbekistan to Tuareg rugs, handmade by the Tuareg tribes of Mauritania, Nushka has curated an ever-evolving collection of rare, extraordinary, and authentically crafted pieces for the home. The company is the result of a husband and wife team with a love for, and a specialism in, interior decoration. Farnoushe’s history working for The Conran Shop and studying Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art complements Andrew’s dealer status and ongoing interior design projects with a diverse portfolio including Grade I listed buildings. This combined commitment to sourcing hand-crafted, authentic homeware allows Nushka’s customers the opportunity to delve into the enchanting traditions of Eastern decorative homeware."
