Higham Furniture are bespoke furniture makers … primarily for kitchens, as well as utility rooms, boot rooms, home studies and anywhere else in the house where beautiful, bespoke cabinetry is needed. Each project starts in their London design studio and is then made, built and painted in the Hampshire workshop. Clients can visit the workshop by appointment, to see the creative process in action, inspect the materials used and of course, meet some of the craftspeople involved.

How would you describe your style?
As each project is completely individual, our style can embrace everything from contemporary Shaker to classic and traditional designs. We can design over-mantels and corbels to suit a particular room, or a breakfast cupboard to house an array of appliances. Our hand painted finishes allow clients to choose absolutely any colour they desire. Above all, our style pays attention to detail and proportion, with each member of the design team using their expertise to plan the perfect kitchen.

Each of our kitchen projects is a unique design; sometimes we are working within the confines of an existing room, sometimes we are designing a kitchen, perhaps with laundry and utility rooms, for a brand new extension. We often work together with our clients architects. Our projects can range from adding sleek, contemporary Shaker style cabinetry to a brand new kitchen-living-dining extension, or transforming an out-dated kitchen into a multi-purpose, perfectly performing hub of the household. Our designers have infinite patience, pay attention to every single detail, and want each client to attain kitchen perfection for themselves and their family. We all enjoy the excitement of making the dream kitchen become a reality. Because every single cabinet is individually specified and made to order our designers can disguise awkward corners and make mis-matched alcoves look symmetrical. They can create extra storage capacity by making wall cabinets taller, wider or deeper, and can create hidden storage in over mantels and piers. Our painted cabinet doors have rails and stiles in maple, and hardwood centre panels and we also make oak and walnut furniture. We help and advise on the choice of work surfaces, sinks, taps and appliances, and ensure that everything comes together perfectly to create that dream kitchen.
