"We recently completed phase one of a wonderful Georgian townhouse in East London’s leafy Victoria Park. Our client came to us with the intent to completely overhaul the property using a phased approach, and we helped him to visualise and plan this effectively. The refurbishment of the upper three floors was completed at the end of 2020. We remodelled the third floor (previously two guest bedrooms) into a large master suite with an open-plan bedroom and dressing area, and a tranquil master shower room. The bath was brought into the bedroom for a touch of fun and luxury. Wardrobes, dressing table, vanity unit and all other joinery in the house was designed by us and built by one of our trusted joiners. At first floor level, we created space for a guest bathroom between two bedrooms, the only guidance here being to do whatever we liked with the scheme – our favourite kind of brief. The fantastic double reception room needed no structural intervention, just a thorough smartening up with bespoke cornices and ceiling roses, beautiful built-in cabinetry and furniture and lighting. An odd little dead space on the landing down to the lower ground floor was converted into a useful coat and shoe cupboard.
When our client originally approached us he had barely any furniture or furnishings, so we had the happy task of sourcing almost every single item for the house using our ‘house’ approach – finding a mixture of antiques and new pieces to create a smart yet comfortable interior with a sense of harmony and some gentle clashes to keep things interesting. Design work on phase 2 - lower ground floor kitchen, dining room, utility and gym - has just commenced.
Every stage of each project we undertake is dealt with in-house; space planning, full build drawings, specification of finishes, kitchen and bathroom design, lighting design, joinery design, furniture and soft furnishings. We project manage every stage to ensure we deliver only the best every time. With an address book full of tradesmen, builders, furniture makers, fabric houses, artists and craftsmen, we design thoughtful, creative and inspiring interiors from concept stage through to build completion."
