The Charles Edwards permanent lighting collection is a testament to its founder’s legacy and passion for British heritage and timeless design, with designs technically adapted to suit contemporary needs by its London-based design studio.
Charles started his career as an antiques dealer in the 1960s, applying his extensive knowledge and discerning eye to creating a lighting collection with over 400 interior and exterior designs characteristic of the English Country House style.
What services do you provide?
"Design and manufacture of handmade decorative lighting, for interior and exterior use. Wired and certified for UK, USA, Europe and projects globally."
How would you describe your style?
"The lighting collection is recognisable as work originating from a single mind, making it virtually impossible to imitate. The collection embraces the subtle and achieves a permanent style, characteristic of the English Country House look."
Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer
"Handmade in brass, all designs can be finished in any of our metal finishes, or in any paint colour you wish to specify. Hand applied in our London workshop, subtle variations in tone are an inherent characteristic of our finishes, ensuring each piece is as unique as the interior scheme it is destined for. Finish combinations are also available in a colour scheme of your choice. You may choose from a metal/metal, metal/paint, or paint/ paint combination.
We offer a custom sizing service on our entire range. All designs can be either rescaled proportionally, or a particular dimension can be changed, such as increasing the height only. Hanging lanterns, chandeliers and shade lights can all be customised to hang in a tiered configuration, perfect for double height spaces or stairwells. You can combine the same design, different sizes, or different designs with as many tiers as you like.
We also accept commissions to create an entirely new design not from our collection."
