Zanna Westgate's early career working for an architectural practice gave her a clear understanding of the construction process which she feeds into her work as an interior designer. As Design Director at Chelsea Textiles, she developed the hand-embroidered, 17th century inspired collections that have made the company world-renowned. Zanna works on all elements of a project from the initial interior architectural detail and design, spacial planning, lighting, joinery and bathrooms. Her careful consideration of contemporary and antique furniture and artwork, as well as distinctive use of colour, ensures a timeless and elegant finish. From unique beachfront residences, luxury ski chalets, contemporary eco-homes to traditional country houses and London homes. Zanna recognises that designing interiors is about understanding the space and having the same innate feeling and vision as the owners. Her passion for design and collaborative approach have earned her a reputation for creating beautiful homes that reflect the individuality of her clients.

"We worked closely with an architectural practice from the outset providing the interior details to create a beautiful and elegant New England-style family home. The brief from the client was to build a new old house for the ages. This was achieved through working the theme of symmetry into the composition. We drew our inspiration from the Hamptons-style, characterised by its use of stately columns, ox-eye windows with external walls clad in shingles and weatherboards. The expressive use of shingles is mimicked inside defined by cool, classic and sophisticated designs, whilst creating a casual beach family home. Natural light and soft-white painted panelling form a mellow, airy beach house look that is effortless and calming. The seaside focal point ensured spacious open-plan living was at the heart of the project with a sweeping, elliptical staircase at its core. The Library and bedroom, without a sea view, encompass a more vibrant and cosier feel drawn from eclectic novel covers. The elegant lighting and bespoke furniture embody the new old brief while providing a distinct but homely feel. Working with local artisans and specialist craftsmen our team could create a unique family home complete with pool, spa, gym and cinema."
