skinflint don’t make lights, they find them. Founded on a mission to only ever salvage and restore vintage lights that would otherwise go to the landfill, skinflint works sustainably to buck fast-furniture trends, working across the UK, Europe and the USA.
Choosing to restore only high-quality originals from the 1920s to the 1970s, styles range from Art Deco chandeliers manufactured by famed glassworks in former Czechoslovakia to industrial shades produced by the powers of the former Eastern Bloc in Germany and Poland. And restored lights continue their journeys around the world too, in shops, bars and restaurants, offices, hotels and private residences, from fellow B Corps like Patagonia and Aesop, and Jean-Georges’ culinary destination the ‘Tin Building’ in Lower Manhattan.
Sensitive restoration means each light’s unique character is carefully preserved, but electrical components are always brought up to modern-day technological standards.
