Interior Design
Contemporary but comfortable with an elegant and refined touch.
This small 1800’s Victorian cottage was tired and in need of some TLC. The brief was to maximise on the living space area, open it up and make it feel as light, bright and as spacious as possible and to create a clean contemporary interior but without losing the cottage feel and charm. We stripped it right back, gutted and fully renovated it. We reconfigured the ground floor layout by moving the staircase and turning the whole ground floor into an open-plan living room with a kitchen/dining area. Light paint colours, materials and fabrics were used throughout as well as adding a roof light, corner bi folding doors with a floating post and several mirrors to bounce and reflect light to accentuate the maximum feeling of space. Everything came together to totally transform and update this old Victorian cottage into a home of effortless charm.
