Sophie Grattan Bellew is an interior designer who works with her team from their studio in Suffolk on varied projects mainly in London and East Anglia. Together they listen to and are guided by their clients wishes which they then build upon to create interiors that are timeless, practical and full of personality and individuality.
"We like to create a sense of continuity and timelessness in an interior while remaining respectful of the architecture and its setting. We do this by balancing the paint colours, wallpapers and textiles and by introducing art and antiques as well as more modern pieces within each room. Our client’s individual taste and style are always at the forefront while we help to inspire and explore all the design possibilities. The overall comfort and practical needs of a space are of paramount importance to us."

"A favourite project of ours was the redecoration of two shepherds’ cottages in Wales which were joined together to create a much loved family retreat with far reaching views and a folly on a hilltop. Our client had a distinct style and already owned a collection of antique textiles which she wished to incorporate into the interior. Together we were able to carry out our brief of creating a warm, relaxed and inviting home that works both for the family as well as weekend parties with friends. We chose a varied number of paint colours, wallpapers and fabrics to make a cohesive and bespoke scheme that works well within the setting. We very much enjoyed our sourcing trips for flooring, lighting and furniture as well as liaising with the craftsmen, curtain maker, upholsterer, and tradesmen involved who all helped to create our shared vision."
