"We had worked on several projects for these clients so were delighted when they asked us to help incorporate some of their furniture from their previous contemporary apartment into a central London house. Their brief was that they wanted a sumptuous but more traditional interior and they were delighted when what was a very run down townhouse, became a glamorous home. With a full team of builders and craftsmen, we restyled the three rather pokey bathrooms, into luxurious spaces and had custom made fitted hanging cupboards installed. A bespoke stone floor was fitted in the entrance hall, stairs and the conservatory. With low ceilings and limited natural light, the lighting design was crucial and this was done in collaboration with John Cullen. The contrasting texture of the wool and silk in the design of the copper coloured carpet in the drawing room gives additional dimension to the room. Silk wallcoverings and wonderful Italian silk curtains all add together to give a very rich interior. The dining room has fantastic silver embroidered curtains, silver walls and a hand-woven jute carpet. In complete contrast is a recently completed coastal property where we worked with the architect to add a substantial extension to a small cottage. This provided a drawing room suitable for entertaining, a welcoming entrance hall, a new kitchen and a breakfast room. With the amazing views, the aspects of the windows were crucial to the initial concept and the colour schemes were selected to reflect the outside environment but with enough texture and interest to act as a backdrop for the clients’ own art and antiques."
