About Us

People ask where the name ig design and interiors comes from, it’s simple! ‘ig’ comes from the initials of the founder’s two children who completely redefined the way she saw everyday ‘lived in’ design. The way we select materials, create practical design solutions and make our styled households fit modern living, is at the forefront of [ig-]. With a heritage in window treatments, a crazy passion for fabrics, combined with the experience of designing interior solutions with a twist, you will find that [ig-] caters to all design needs, be it a bespoke cushion or a fully designed home.

How would you describe your style?

I think that a home should reflect the character and style of the people who live in it. My own home is an eclectic fusion of heirlooms and items that make me feel good.

The client had extended and gutted the whole house. The brief was to create an individual and relaxed kitchen/family room along the back of the house, somewhere where they could all hang out, dine, watch TV, relax and entertain. The clients were also looking for a more formal, yet relaxed and comfortable sitting room with a connecting games room for the children. The snooker table was not very pretty to look at, so we upholstered the sides with cowhide, turning it into a stunning feature. A lot of natural materials such as stone, wood, cotton and linen were used to create an interesting and subtle base. This helps to draw your eyes to the different fabrics and brighter accent colours that have been carefully placed throughout the different areas, giving the client a home with rooms of individual character which come together beautifully as a whole. I always try to encourage my clients to use Pinterest, or to collect images of anything that they like. My designs are influenced by items that the clients love and want to incorporate into the design, along with the style and location of the property. It's also really important that the design is functional and will work really well with their lifestyle.
