About Us

Caroline Paterson Interiors was founded in 1987. Prior to this, Caroline worked for six years as assistant to Chester Jones, one of the senior partners at Colefax & Fowler. Her working life began in the Furniture Department at Christie's and she has maintained her love for sourcing antiques and frequently buys from art fairs and galleries for her clients. Along with this, Caroline also designs bespoke pieces of furniture and rugs, and plans to launch her own product range in the near future.

How would you describe your style?

"My style can best be described as eclectic and versatile, with the foundation of my inspiration based predominantly on architecture, about which I care deeply. I enjoy the contrast of working on contemporary interior design projects as much as traditional and whilst at Colefax & Fowler I spent many years working on corporate projects."

"The brief for this small duplex Kensington apartment was it required serious modernising and minimising to create an airy space for seating and eating. The room had a traditional staircase which was replaced by a low iron glass panel with a perspex handrail. The original off centre fireplace surround was changed to a minimal opening. The centre section of the bookcase has a lift mechanism to reveal a TV within. The recess to the left of the fireplace was a wonderful discovery and great for creating the display of objects and giving an injection of colour to the room."
