Let me introduce myself: I am Ursula Naim founder of Hunarkar, my love for all things handmade led me on a search for artisanal, hand-woven rugs at prices that wouldn't equal two months' worth of a paycheck.
I researched and met with artisans from all over the world: Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan to bring premium quality rugs in modern and traditional designs directly from the craftsmen to your doorstep at prices to fit most budgets.
We value and respect the environment our rugs are made with pure New Zealand wool, natural silk and cotton extracted using environmentally friendly practices. We use vegetable dyes to bring rich, vibrant colours to our rugs.
There are two ways we offer you better pricing than our competitors. We design our rugs in-house and work directly with the artisans cutting out any middlemen to bring you premium quality at prices within your reach.

"WILLIAM’s-Nursery flatweave rug
We recently worked on a bespoke custom flat weave rug order for our lovely client Jennifer Bee Hunter Interiors based in New York. It was an oversized rug for a boy’s nursery room in a gorgeous scarlet red and cream combination. The SHEER rug which is a very intricate design rug was selected by Jennifer and she fell in love the moment we sent her our sample.
MACE - Flatweave Dinning rug
Our second bespoke rug was for Bailey Ward Interiors for one of her living room projects which was again a classic flatweave Dhurrie rug -JOURN made in New Zealand wool in muted neutral tones of ivory and tan.
BUSRA- Hand knotted Khotan rug
Our third collaboration has been with Sarah Veil Designs for a bespoke hand-knotted Khotan rug in a custom size required for her project. We were ecstatic to be contacted by her team and to have this opportunity to offer our custom-made rug services to one of the biggest interior design houses in the US.
