Taylor & Turner is a London based design studio established in 2017 by Anneke Gilkes and Harriette Cayzer. Interior Design
Classic, timeless and considered, using both contemporary and antique pieces to create elegant and comfortable spaces.
We were engaged by a newly married couple to renovate their beautiful period townhouse. The brief was to create a fun, finished and happy feeling home. The challenge was to integrate as much existing furniture as possible while sourcing key items to bring the spaces together, creating a fresh and considered flow throughout the house. We designed bespoke joinery and cabinetry in various areas to create as much storage as possible for clutter free everyday living. In the kitchen we retained the existing carcasses but installed new cabinet fronts and work tops to create a space that felt entirely new. We went back to the drawing board for all the bathrooms with intricate attention to detail to realise a clean and considered aesthetic that utilised every potential space, even for the smallest areas. Fresh and bright colour schemes were developed which we balanced and layered with natural textures and patterns to knit together ‘old and new’, achieving a understated, luxurious home that felt relevant and current.
