About Us

Mekhann was established in 2012 to bring a contemporary outlook to a tradition of textile craft spanning two millennia. Uniting hand craft with modern design, we endeavour to produce the finest hand-embroidered, natural dye, silk textiles.

Our work explores the history and culture of the embroidery and the plant dye craft of Central Asia; drawing inspiration from diverse sources, we combine traditional design references with modern artistic sensibilities, whilst staying true to the finest, historic hand-craftsman.

Our range of home textiles includes suzani cushions, ikat lampshades, framed embroidered wall art and decorative textiles; including bed covers, table runners and embroidered throws.

How would you describe your style?

"Following in the tradition of British interior decoration, we bring together colour, texture and pattern to provide richness and complex layers to rooms, with personality and comfort at the heart of what we do. Each piece is unique and our team in-house of designers and craftspeople work closely together to create textile works of unmatched quality. Our design is rooted in culture and tradition, whilst exploring contemporary themes.

Mekhann is proud to produce the finest natural dye, silk textiles."
