Clients love entertaining. They wanted to maintain the Georgian integrity of the property but bring a contemporary feel into the home. For the kitchen, a family kitchen and living space was created for everyone to enjoy. The area was opened up so that when entertaining, people could gather while meals are prepared. We wanted to keep a traditional look due to the age and style of the house but to give our clients all the advantages of deep modern full extending drawers, electric bin units, etc. The colour, Basalt (221) The Little Greene Paint Company Ltd, creates a warm atmosphere both in the daytime and in low evening sun. Now that the kitchen has been opened into the family room, the entire space has a fabulous airy feel with magnificent views out to the Thames. For the bar the brief was a cosy masculine retreat, reminiscent of the Blue Bar at the Berkeley Hotel, London. The space works perfectly for two or three people to sit and relax. The space is intimate but sociable. The Master bathroom needed to be brought up to date and the space used more efficiently. The view onto the river was stunning, so both basins were placed under the windows, making sure that visually the outside became part of the room. The client was overjoyed with the final result.
