Colour is very much at the heart of Kate Medlicott's textiles. Bold colours and simple motifs contrast with flamboyant one-off designs, often influenced by Kate's time in the Far East. All of her fabrics start life on the pages of Kate’s sketchbook in her Somerset studio and are then printed in England onto 100% linen or linen union. From trailing prints and patterned seed heads, exotic birds and small-scale geometrics, our textiles are striking and understated, characterised by a bold contemporary colour palette.
To date, Kate has launched three collections inspired by her time in Asia, Mediaeval pottery and Kate’s Belgian heritage: 'Asian Sojourn', 'Journeyman' and 'Attic' respectively. Her fabrics are printed to order and ready to despatch within the UK and internationally in 10 to 15 days.

How would you describe your style?
“Bold, colourful and unique. I love bright hues and the mantra ‘less is more’ flows throughout my work. But I also enjoy creating a story with my textiles; my designs are understated but rich with historical influence, personal experience and colour.”
