About Us

Daughters of Gaea makes luxury home décor, ethically and sustainably, working solely with female-led artisan groups from around the world who have a positive social impact. We celebrate traditional handcraft techniques, whilst providing empowered employment for hand workers, of which 90%+ are women.  Daughters of Gaea was launched in 2022 and founded by Felicity Marshall.

All our products are made with low impact GOTS dyes and from environmentally friendly materials and we strive to be a carbon-negative brand that is completely transparent through the supply chain. To reach this goal, we offset our carbon footprint, give 1% of revenues to environmental charities and plant a tree with every order.

Each of our collections will be created in a different corner of the world, with design elements inspired by the countries in which they are made.  To ensure every piece is unique, they are all made in small batches and crafted entirely by hand.

The India Collection is our first, paying homage to traditional Indian florals, inspired by a wild garden.  It is a collaboration with Tharangini Studios, a woman-owned block print workshop based in Bangalore. A skilled group of master artisans, who have spent decades perfecting their craft. Tharangini provides work for women through their mentoring programmes and their partnership with the Asha Foundation for Autism, echoing our values in their commitment to women empowerment and staff welfare.

How would you describe your style?

"Dreamlike, reversible, clashing prints - the style of our collections is informed from the cultural roots of the countries they were made in. Daughters of Gaea prides itself on using the most luxurious materials to absorb dyes into our fabrics of enchanting and unusual colour combinations. Our designs are based on what is achievable with heritage handcraft techniques, but with a modern twist and never shying away from bold, vibrant colour. "

"We recently created a new linen collection of twelve cushions made from 100% organic linen. We wanted this collection to be an extension of The India Collection, but with a more contemporary style, playing with the way that blocks can be arranged for printing in abstract shapes. This collection will be launched in Autumn 2022.

We are always working on new, exciting ideas for our collections and have just begun working on The Mexico Collection which is being sewn by a wonderful women’s embroidery collective in Oaxaca. Taking inspiration from Mexico’s fascinating spiritual roots, the designs of this collection will use elements representing spirituality, astrology and otherworldliness. Launching in 2023."
