"One of Casita Design's most recent projects was the renovation of a beautiful seven-bedroom Villa on the prestigious Sandy Lane Estate in Barbados. The brief was to turn this tired family home into a stunning rental villa with an emphasis on practicality and tropical elegance. Turning three reception rooms on the ground floor into one large living space meant guests could really enjoy the indoor/outdoor lifestyle leading to a beautiful pool area with a sunken fire pit and a stunning new dining gazebo. Using hard-wearing outdoor fabrics with pops of colour, the transformation was complete with bespoke furniture pieces made in England and the US, lampshades and accessories also from the UK and lighting and fabrics from the USA and the UK retaining the cool tropical elegance of the Caribbean. Where possible, we sourced as much as we could on the island including having some of the upholstery items and all the blinds and curtains beautifully made in Barbados amongst some of the other wonderful island resources."
