How would you describe your style?

“As a basic principle, every piece of our stock is chosen for its aesthetic merits, quality and enduring design rather than being confined to a period or place of production. Good design, beautiful materials and fine craftsmanship allow us to make lasting, sustainable lifestyle choices. We have a particular passion for the work of architects and designers of the mid-century modern era, mainly from Europe and the USA. Our stock comprises pieces by well-known design names such as Niels Otto Moller, Johannes Anderson, Bruno Mathsson, Osvaldo Borsani, Aldo Tura, Gio Ponti and Otto Schulz, also quirkier pieces made with unusual materials by designers such as Anthony Redmile, Maitland Smith, John Widdicomb and Adrian Pearsall.

Meeting the same criteria, we stock interesting antique pieces from all over the world, including Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Alongside the furniture, we have a retail selection of home accessories and gifts, including Santa Maria Novella, David Mellor, Leach Pottery, Ichendorf Milan, Maison de Vacances, Volga Linen and Holmegaard.”

“We operate a bespoke sourcing service for antique and modern furniture and works of art, working alongside interior designers and private individuals on residential and commercial projects. We have created a small range of traditional and contemporary furniture and lamps made exclusively for BEAR by craftsmen in West Sussex.”
