About Us

Pan’s Lodge has been crafting interiors of distinction for some of the UK’s greatest addresses for over two decades. Situated in Hampshire but operating nationally and internationally with projects as far reaching as Russia, Saudi Arabia and the USA, it is an established interior design company with a reputation for producing relaxed and equally luxurious interior designs.

Founded by Carmen Evans, the studio is renowned for its meticulous attention to detail and high standard of finishes. Familiar with working in buildings of note, the studio has a number of significant properties within its body of works, from Grade I listed buildings by John Nash and Sir Edwin Lutyens to unrivalled Mayfair apartments.

Passionate about supporting the art of British craft, the studio offers designs made in the best workshops in the country using specialist techniques and processes, which when combined with the studio’s love of materiality has coined the signature aesthetic of Pan’s Lodge, one of individuality and an unfailing quality. The studio specialises in sensitively marrying the wider architectural aesthetic with the interiors, incorporating fine cabinetry, wall panelling, plaster mouldings, statement chandeliers and bespoke wallpapers, enhanced by the company’s signature style of bespoke window treatments made in the finest silk, lambswool and passementerie combinations.

Pan’s Lodge, also boasts an impressive and growing product arm entitled ‘The collection’, which launched at Decorex in 2009. The products, namely pole finials, curtain holdbacks and pelmet panels are all hand-carved or turned using traditional techniques and are made exclusively for the studio by British workshops. They use sustainably sourced natural materials and woods, such as oak, walnut and ash and are hand embellished with distressed gold and silver leaf accents. The designs, by founder and creative director Carman Evans are the result of her experience as a seasoned designer.

"An eight-bedroom Victorian country house steeped in history and set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Transformed over a three-year build and renovation project into a relaxed, luxurious 21st century family home. Under the stewardship of Carmen Evans, founder of Pan’s Lodge, the property was renovated and designed in partnership with Alec Wilson, of Clive Christian Furniture Weybridge. The house has been turned into a magnificent family home replete with rooms of bespoke joinery, wall panelling and fitted cabinetry.

Working in harmony with the architectural detailing and cabinetry, Pan’s Lodge designed interiors that maximised the volume of natural light afforded to each room and the breath-taking views from all aspects of the house. The refined finishes and colour scheme were offset by the commissioning of an oak Versailles-patterned floor and the use of statement antique mirrors set above fireplaces and within alcoves to imbue a sense of warmth and light. The walls were hung with exquisite De Gournay damasks and bespoke, hand-painted papers depicting flora, fauna, and birdlife, a nod to the wider landscape and wildlife, all accentuated by statement chandeliers and bespoke wall lanterns.

The Master Suite is a haven of tranquillity and serenity, featuring ‘his and hers' vanity units in the bathroom complemented by Drummonds sanitary ware and Christopher Hyde chandeliers. The dressing room, with bespoke ‘his and hers’ wardrobes, painted in pale greys, features tall, classical fluted pilasters with frieze volutes and dentil cornice. The central dressing island with its semi-circular base ends and curved doors is topped with San Marino white marble, all hand sourced by Pan’s Lodge.

Replete throughout with signature detailing by Carmen and the team at Pan’s Lodge it is an exceptional family home in one of the UK’s most coveted rural idylls. It is a standout example of the studio’s work and their skills honed over a two decade (and counting) career in the world of fine interior design. It epitomises the relaxed luxury movement and reflects the variety of exceptional craftspeople and artisans Britain has to offer."
