Wondering People is an art collective that sources original and editioned works by emerging artists. From contemporary paintings, drawings and photography to textiles, ceramics and sculptures, we represent over 60 artists, offering burgeoning art collectors a wealth of thoughtfully chosen works, with a distinct aesthetic. We have hosted a number of exhibitions and supper clubs, and in the new year, we plan on holding a range of art workshops, such as ink drawing and still life. We launched Wondering People in March 2020.
How would you describe your style?
"With an eclectic array of pieces, we are not defined or dedicated to a particular medium and instead celebrate art in every form. Rose Shuckburgh’s ethereal watercolours sit next to drawings, collages and monoprints by Hannah Ackroyd. Intricate ceramics and tiles by Victor Marqué are contrasted with the remedial soft curves of Léa Ferling’s abstract tableware.
We hope to feed a sense of escapism through our discerning curation of artworks, each chosen for its distinctive aesthetic and approach. Our curation of artworks has been described as ‘cool minimalism meets earthy primalism. It’s all about craft, slowness, intuitive painterly ‘naive’ work’."
Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer
"We often work with interior designers, providing them with affordable art of all kinds for their projects. BOS Studios recently came to us for a dozen artworks for a hotel they were designing in Spain, whilst designer Hollie Bowden commissioned a large number of handmade tiles by Victor Marqué for a bathroom.
We also offer an art consultancy service for those looking to purchase artwork for the first time, expand their collection or decorate a new home. Our art consultancy service gives our clients bespoke advice on which artworks would best suit their aesthetic, budget and brief. We work collaboratively with our clients to provide tailored suggestions, helping them invest in the best up-and-coming, emerging artists. We give valuable advice whilst taking care of all elements, including shipping and framing, where we work closely with a selection of high-end framers."
