It is over 25 years since Emily Todhunter and Kate Earle joined forces to create smart, contemporary and diverse interiors in the city and the country. The studio is also no stranger to designing boats, chalets and villas for an international clientele. With a team that numbers about 25, the studio doesn’t impose a design signature, instead responding to each individual client, property and location. In 2021 their book, Modern English, was published by Vendome Press and 2024 sees the launch of three new product collaborations: carpets with Peter Page, upholstery with Lorfords Contemporary and fire surrounds, baskets and grates with Thornhill Galleries.

"The brief for this Grade II listed central London property was to create a stunning family home reflecting the imposing architecture of the location, marrying this with the needs of a family with three growing children. The client wished to have a home to showcase their contemporary art collection and we commissioned much of the furniture and many of the light fittings as custom pieces to stand as works of art in their own right. The impressive entrance hall sets the tone for the public areas of the house, whilst the private bedroom areas give a sense of sanctuary and calm. We are committed to ensuring that each project is designed and built to each individual client’s needs, down to the very last detail. We work with long-established tradesmen and tirelessly seek out the best craftsmen for each job to guarantee truly original interiors to meet each client’s brief."
