A classical new country house on a commanding site overlooking the Fowey river. It is very much a building of Cornwall using Cornish granite, Cornish slate, "shallot" (local rubblestone) and English oak and built by local craftsmen. Like all buildings built of good materials in a sound and careful manner, it is not an unwelcome intruder in the landscape, it enhances it. Inside there are specially designed chimney pieces and plaster cornices and within the centre, a flowing stone cantilevered staircase.
