Manu Interiors is a small studio founded by Manuela, a Brazilian living and working in London for over 10 years. Manuela studied interior design at the prestigious KLC School of Design after a career change from advertising to interior design. Our work is driven by the client, experimentation and practicability. We love to mix styles, textures and colour. Our aim is to create something unexpected, practical and welcoming but also timeless. We don’t like rooms that are too trendy. Our last project was a beautiful five story Georgian house in Islington. The brief was to refurbish the entire house, keeping Hygge style in mind to create an inviting home. The owner wanted a friendly but quite unique, special space for her and her daughter. A place they can host friends and have a lot of sleepovers. The house was beautiful but a bit too modern for the client. To meet the brief I used warm welcoming colours and a mixture of natural finishes and textures; parquet flooring, linen, velvet, marble and cement tiles. We spent a lot of time planning curtains and making sure every room had comfortable seating. To add a little bit of luxury we invested in beautiful lights. To me, the mismatch of colour and finishes is what makes this house a really welcoming home.
