"Our discerning client, accustomed to impeccable style in the high-end retail/real estate sector was ready to have their dream home. Rebuilt in the 1920s, the imposing exterior listed Georgian townhouse occupies an enviable corner position of a wide tree-lined street. With the interior free from any listing, the house was completely transformed. Intelligent wireless, technical and audiovisual services were discreetly hidden within the architectural element. Throughout the home, bespoke architectural detailing is showcased by striking, yet intimate entertainment areas; a meticulously crafted kitchen for the passionate cook; and inviting bedrooms and bathrooms, offering a peaceful sanctuary for escape. Working closely with the client, the broadly 1940s French aesthetic was chosen. Paired with contrasts in design, materials and colours – a bold, Art Deco-influenced fireplace featured in the reception room, a laser-cut, Oriental-inspired, metal screen behind a lavish and inviting four-poster bed in the master bedroom and a cosy, eclectic warmth in the informal sitting room. The result, a delicate balance between beauty and function, harmoniously delivered through a mix of found and bespoke, high end and cleverly curated less expensive treasures."
