Led by co-founders Maria Lindgren and Adele Lonergan, Covet Noir was born out of their shared love of mixing new and antique pieces. The pair established Covet Noir in 2018, having worked together for years on projects in London and New York. The studio has a real focus on the client experience. Each step of their process is carefully considered to guide their clients through the project journey, from initial concept to completion. Taking care at each stage to not only understand the client’s brief but also to learn how they live. This insight ensures they create interiors that are not only beautiful but liveable for their clients. The studio is proud of the relationships they nurture with their clients, and believes passionately in being open and transparent.
Their little black book of artisans and makers allows them to curate elegant bespoke interiors for their clients. They believe that truly timeless design does not need to be fussy. Covet Noir pride itself on the effortless quality of its work, consciously choosing not to overly style their designs, but to allow the architectural core of its designs to breathe and leave space for its clients to grow into their homes. With a strong focus on creating interiors with character, the studio works with trusted contractors and craftspeople to deliver bespoke details that elevate their designs. It is this drive to develop unique elements that ensure their work stands the test of time. Covet Noir guarantees that every element of their designs is carefully curated to enhance the modern lives of their clients.

How would you describe your style?
"Using sophisticated palettes of refined materials, Covet Noir’s portfolio is defined by neutrality and quality. The studio's style is timeless and considered; rather than following trends. While every project is unique, each is linked by our distinctive layering of neutral materials and finishes. Curating art, antiques and accessories to create distinctive interiors for their clients to retreat to. Covet Noir are careful to be true to the architectural heritage of their projects, working with specialists to install sympathetic period detailing where appropriate."

"Covet Noir recently completed the full refurbishment of a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian house in Surrey. Their clients tasked the studio with creating a design that would showcase the grand proportions of the Georgian property, whilst also making the spaces feel intimate and cosy enough for family life. To achieve this the studio curated a palette of beautiful materials, including luxe marble and alabaster, softened with layers of sumptuous velvets and boucles. Beyond simply sourcing the furniture & accessories, Covet Noir was also responsible for the architectural detailing throughout. From commissioning a cantilever Limestone staircase to curating an extensive plasterworks package including raised and fielded wall panels, overdoors, cornicing, ceiling roses & corbels, they breathed life back into this former B&B. The overall result is a characterful, yet modern home that their clients absolutely love."
