Art, design, and making define the house of Christopher Farr Cloth, which was created by Michal Silver with partners Christopher Farr and Matthew Bourne. Since its inception in 2000, Cloth’s creative direction has been underpinned by a commitment to the finest materials, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative collaborations with renowned artists and designers around the world.
Today, the collection encompasses fabrics, wallcoverings and passementeries, reflecting a passion for time-honoured textile production processes and an intellectual yet playful approach to design and experimentation.
Cloth’s palette of instantly recognisable hues acts as a unifier that draws together the creativity of an array of artists and designers, from historical to contemporary. The collection’s unique designs are born out of ongoing conversations and exchanges of ideas with designers, as well as inspiration drawn from past archival work by 20th-century artists.
The collection is produced by a very selective group of craftsmen. All designs are hand- and screen-printed at a family-owned printer in the U.K. The woven textiles are produced in European artisanal mills, exploring new weave structures and innovative yarn spinning.

How would you describe your style?
"Christopher Farr Cloth’s instantly recognisable palette is the unifying factor that draws together the creativity of a varied selection of artists and designers, both historical and contemporary. The stories that surround our unique designs enrich the products but do not define them. Archival collections, originally created for a different era, are revived anew in fresh colours and can be paired with contemporary patterns and textures as one desires. The studio team have an intellectual yet playful approach to design and a continued passion for time-honoured screenprinting processes and artisan weaving."
