"Our most recent project was the complete redesign and renovation of a remote fishing lodge in Palena, Chile. We restored the original architecture and extended the building, adding a billiards room and bar using all local materials. The Patagonian culture heavily influenced our selection of fabrics, furniture and art; we sourced textiles from local artisans, including custom-woven rugs which we upholstered into headboards. In the bathrooms, we designed graphic cement tiles with traditional Chilean motifs. Our furniture was a mix of bespoke designs and continental antiques, including modern Windsor dining chairs from Howe, a rustic fourteen-foot antique dining table from France and a raw edge sofa table made from indigenous wood by a local carpenter. We also designed a hand-forged range of lighting inspired by a traditional Patagonian emblem that we installed throughout the property. This project was a collaboration with local artisans and talented craftsmen which ensured the finished lodge was a cosy, rustic retreat for guests after a long day on the river."
