About Us

Mandy Cuss + Co. Design has been created with a clear vision for holistic excellence. Providing expertise through a service that adds great value to the lives of others while doing work that is meaningful is Mandy's guiding principle. At the heart of her business is something quite simple: she loves to create spaces that make people feel good. Every effort is made to deliver, not only an amazing outcome but also a seamless experience throughout the design process. She loves collaborating and working with people - from clients to artisans, trades to suppliers - and building upon these relationships. Remaining approachable and down-to-earth is important, as is helping others experience the transformational power of well-designed spaces.

Mandy's interior design career began in the US, where she ran a boutique firm specialising in the design and decoration of seaside cottages, historic homes, and award-winning restaurants. True to her New England roots, practicality and function are paramount, providing the foundation upon which an effective design is built. Upon relocating to the UK, she studied at Inchbald School of Design, earning a degree in Architectural Interior Design. Thereafter, she continued to hone her skills in designing luxury suites in Mayfair for Maybourne Hotel Group’s in-house design team (Claridge’s, The Connaught, The Berkeley). Mandy Cuss + Co. Design was established in 2019. Based in Sussex, the company creates characterful, one-of-a-kind interiors for private residential and boutique commercial clients throughout the UK.

How would you describe your style?

"We’re very much a client-led studio and like our work to reflect the setting, architecture, and desires of the individual. That said, there are threads that run through. We’re passionate about relaxed, easy, authentic interiors that nurture, replenish, and inspire all at once. We love mixing old with new, incorporating natural materials, thoughtfully-crafted items, and the delicate balancing of colour, light, and texture to create just the right mood."

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"We recently transformed a new build property that was having an identity crisis into a layered, characterful family home reflective of the family’s story and lifestyle. Key to the brief was to ensure the open-plan ground floor flowed harmoniously while being visually zoned for its various purposes. We provided a much-needed dose of characterisation, customising the home with bespoke joinery, panelling, colour work, and clever space planning to create a home that feels grounded and full of personality."
